Today, we are going on a praise journey focused on Jesus.

We are calling this session “Sit Around the Campfire,” as though we are gathered together around a fire, not performing for one another, but ministering to Jesus together.

As each song is played, listen with your heart. Pay attention to the words. Let the lyrics help you remember who Jesus is, what He has done, and what He means to you personally.

As the words resonate with your heart, respond to Jesus. You may sing, stand, lift your hands, clap, sway, dance, place your hand on your heart, cry, laugh, or sit quietly in worship as you think about Him.

The goal is to help each person leave with a clearer view of Jesus and a practical response to Him.

This is not a time to become disconnected from one another, but to remain present as we worship Jesus together. We are gathered as one body, lifting our hearts to the One who is worthy.

Jesus is central to the Christian walk, and He will be the centre of our worship today. We will focus on the words of the songs because what we sing matters. As we lift our voices and our hearts to the Lord, let everything point back to Jesus.

So as we begin, let us turn our attention away from the noise, the pressure, and the distractions of life, and let us fix our eyes on Jesus. The goal is to help each person leave with a clearer view of Jesus and a practical response to Him.

Section 1: Dependence –  We begin this journey by remembering that we need Jesus

Focus: Lord, I need You.

Our first song is  “I Can’t Even Walk Without You Holding My Hand” and is built on a deeply biblical truth: our dependence on Jesus.

“Many of us have discovered that the longer we walk with God, the more we realise how much we need Him. There may have been a time when we thought our education, experience, strength, wealth or abilities could carry us through life’s challenges. But if we’re honest, we know that every victory, every breakthrough, every step forward has been because of His grace.

Jesus said, ‘Without Me you can do nothing.’ The Psalmist declared that the Lord upholds us with His hand. We are not standing today because of our own strength; we are standing because God has been faithful to sustain us.

As we listen to this song, let it be more than a melody. Let it become our testimony and our prayer: Lord, I acknowledge that I cannot make this journey alone. I need Your wisdom, Your strength, Your guidance, and Your hand upon my life every step of the way.

Let us worship Him with grateful hearts as we reflect on the truth: I can’t even walk without Him holding our hand.”

Section 2: Trust – Jesus Our Keeper and Sustainer (Psalm 121:5, Isaiah 46:4) 

As we have just sung, none of us can truly walk this journey without the hand of Jesus upon our lives.

But here is the comfort: the One we depend on is faithful to hold us.

He does not ask us to walk alone.
He does not leave us to carry what is too heavy for us.
He does not call us forward and then remove His hand.

The Bible says, “The Lord is thy keeper.”
It also says that no one can pluck His sheep out of His hand.

So as we continue around this campfire of worship, let us now turn our hearts from simply acknowledging our need, to remembering His faithfulness.

Some of us can testify: He held me when I was weak.
He kept me when I did not know how I would make it.
He carried me through seasons I could not explain.
He guided me when I did not know the way.

Lamentations says, “Great is Your faithfulness.”

So as we sing “Great is Your faithfulness” let us remember the faithfulness of Jesus.
He has been faithful before.
He is faithful now.
And He will be faithful again.

Let us continue to worship the One who is too faithful to fail us.

Section 3: Redemption – Jesus Our Saviour and Redeemer (Ephesians 1:7) 

Focus: The One who holds me is also the One who saved me.

After we have declared that Jesus is our Keeper and Sustainer, we now turn our hearts to another beautiful truth: the One who holds us is also the One who saved us.

He is not only faithful to carry us through life; He is the Redeemer who rescued us from sin, shame, darkness, and separation from God. Before we ever knew how to hold on to Him, He had already reached for us. Before we could save ourselves, He gave Himself for us.

So as we enter this next song, let us not sing casually. Let us remember what Jesus has done. He is our Saviour. He is our Redeemer. He is the One who brought us back to the Father, washed us, forgave us, restored us, and gave us new life.

And because of that, we do not worship quietly in our hearts alone. We lift our voices. We declare His greatness. We let the earth hear our praise.

So now, with grateful hearts, let us worship Jesus — our Saviour, our Redeemer, our Lord — with “Shout To The Lord.”

Section 4: Friendship – Jesus Our Shepherd and Friend 

Focus: He does not only save us; He walks with us.

We have worshipped Jesus as our Saviour and Redeemer—the One who rescued us, forgave us, and brought us back to the Father.

But Jesus does not save us and then leave us to walk alone.

He remains with us.

He becomes our Shepherd—the One who leads, protects, corrects, restores, and guides us. He knows the way when we do not. He sees what is ahead when we cannot. He walks with us through valleys, through uncertainty, through weakness, through change, and through every season of life.

David said in Psalm 23:1–3:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul.”

That is the goodness of Jesus. He does not only forgive the soul; He restores the soul. He does not only bring us out; He walks with us forward.

And what a Friend He is. Faithful in every season. Present in every struggle. Kind in every weakness. Good even when life is difficult.

So as we sing “Goodness of God,” let us remember the journey. Think of the times He carried you, covered you, corrected you, kept you, and walked with you when you did not even know how you would make it.

This is not just a song about what God has done. It is a testimony of who He has been.

Let us now worship Jesus—our Shepherd, our Friend, and the faithful God whose goodness has followed us all the days of our lives.

Section 5:  Exaltation – Jesus Our Lord and King Son

Focus: The One who walks with us is worthy of worship and surrender.

We have reflected on Jesus as the One who saves us, keeps us, shepherds us, and walks with us. But the Jesus who comes close is also the Jesus who reigns above all.

He is not only our friend; He is Lord.
He is not only our Shepherd; He is King.
He is not only the One who comforts us; He is the One before whom every knee will bow.

Revelation 5:13 says:

“To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honour and glory and power, for ever and ever!”

So as we enter this space, we are lifting our eyes from our needs, our burdens, and our circumstances, and we are beholding Jesus in His rightful place — seated on the throne.

This is a moment of worship, but it is also a moment of surrender.

Because if Jesus is Lord and King, then He is worthy of more than a song.
He is worthy of our trust.
He is worthy of our obedience.
He is worthy of the throne of our hearts.

As this song begins, let us worship Him not only with our lips, but with surrendered hearts. Let us honour the One who sits on the throne and the Lamb who is worthy forever.

Section 6: Hope – Jesus Our Hope and Coming King

Focus: We leave with our eyes fixed on Jesus.

As we come to the final section of this worship journey, we do not end by looking at ourselves, our circumstances, or even our needs. We end by fixing our eyes on Jesus.

The One who saved us is the One who keeps us.
The One who walks with us is the One who reigns over us.
And the One who reigns now is the One who is coming again.

Jesus is our hope, not only for this moment, but for eternity. When life feels uncertain, He is still our sure foundation. When the world feels unstable, He is still seated on the throne. When our hearts grow weary, we remember that our story is moving toward Him.

Titus 2:13 says we are:

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”

So as we prepare to sing “Even So,” let this be more than a song about His coming. Let it be a fresh setting of our hearts.

We are saying:
Jesus, our hope is in You.
Jesus, our eyes are on You.
Jesus, our hearts are waiting for You.
Jesus, come and reign fully in us, even as we wait for the day when we shall see You face to face.

As we come to the end of this campfire worship journey, we leave the same way we have spent this evening—looking at Jesus.

We have remembered Him as our King, our Keeper, our Saviour, our Shepherd, our Lord, and now our Hope.

Through every song and every scripture, one truth has remained clear:

Jesus matters.

He is not only the centre of our worship; He is the centre of our lives.

As we leave this place, may we carry with us a greater awareness of His love, His faithfulness, His presence, and His promise.

May our eyes remain fixed on Him.

May our hearts remain surrendered to Him.

And may our lives bring glory to Him until the day we see Him face to face.
